Description

Vintage 1970's daisy-themed white bridal gown with matching veil, 2 pairs of gloves, and original garment bag.
I am helping my Aunt in selling this beautiful piece from 1977.  She wants to be able to pass this on to someone who will wear it and love it as much as she did! The dress and veil are in overall great condition- it was stored away in a closet for 40+ years.
Dress specifics:
Daisy appliques on the mesh overlay of the whole dress
Victorian style ruffled lace neck
Yoke entails daisy and floral lace with daisy applique border
Empire waist with a satin faux belt with bow and daisy applique
Mesh blouson sleeves with daisy appliques
Victorian style wrists with daisy lace, satin bow, and metal snaps for fit
Dress train hem consists of daisy/floral lace, ruffles, and daisy appliques
A metal zipper and hook/eye closures along the back
A button in the lower back to loop the train
No holes/tears
Flaws to note- Dress should be dry cleaned.
The neck is dusty because of the slit in the garment bag. Some discoloration near hook/eye closure near the neck. Dress could be worn as-is, as the discoloration spots are minor.
Back of both right and left wrists on blouson sleeve and toward bottom of the lace. Minor discoloration spots along the bottom hem of the lace. Two small spots on the mesh of the skirt. A few loose threads.
Sizing- I am a modern size 6, 34 C /teetering on 8/36C and I couldn’t zip it up completely. There was about an inch gap in the bust area. Actual measurements of garment laid flat- Underarm to underarm: 18”, under bust: 13.5”, natural waist: 15”, hip:27”, length in front: 57”(with lace at bottom), length in back including train: 78”
Veil specifics:
Floral daisy pattern
Daisy appliques have pearls in the middle, on the headpiece
Comes with 2 original bobby pins
3 layers of tulle
Middle layer bordered with lace and daisy details.
This layer measures 32” long
No hole/tears
Flaws-The headpiece shows some yellow discoloration, but the majority of it is on the back part. Metal bobby pins were stored on the headpiece and there is light rust residue.
Glove specifics-
1 pair elbow length has faux pearl button closure.
Synthetic material. Light discoloration at the top, a few discoloration spots throughout.
1 pair short gloves with metal snap closures. Cotton blend. Very well loved with dark discoloration and pilling. Will need a deep clean, if you decide to wear these.
Garment bag specifics-
Dark olive green with metal zip closure.
One of the hanger holes has a tear and some minor holes due to being stored for over 40 years.
I described these items to the best of my ability and spent quite of a bit of time detailing this listing. Keep in mind the garment is over 40 years old and will show some signs of age. Double check measurements and compare with a no-stretch dress you already own.
