    About:
    Marble House Scarf
The design motifs of this silk scarf are inspired by decorativee elements in the Entrance Hall of Marble House (c. 1892) built by Richard Morris Hunt, architect, for Mr. and Mrs. William K. Vanderbilt. The central medallion and the outer and inner borders are from the elaborate wrought iron and gild bronze door grilles and the gilt stucco relief decoration of the ceiling cove executed by the Paris decorator Jules Allard and Son.
