S Scale / Guage American Flyer 740 Hand car and parts. I bought two hand cars with the intent of creating something unusual.  I soon found that the wheel base on these little hand cars is to long.  In shot I reassembled one and saved what I could from the most abused hand car.  The assembled car has been restored to a point that makes it very presentable, and operates very well  I lubricated the little machine and polished the wheels and contact on the insulated metal wheels.  If any one is interested, This is the only rolling stock that Gilbert used metal wheels all around just like the Alco's and the GPs  Metal wheels help keep the track cleaner.  Plastic wheels collect all sorts of dirt  The fellows that operate scale equipment do not use any plastic wheels.  Lionel is doing the same thing even today using plastic wheels.  I did repaint the hand car.  the decals are the original the lanterns were polished.  I replaced all the screws with correct A.F. parts.  I cannot offer you a American Flyer box, but it will be delivered in appropriate cushioned box.  All the spare parts will be segregated from the hand car.  Thank you for looking at my little hand car, and have a wonderful day
