    Description

I am selling three Western Union telegrams from world famous actresses - Eleonora Duse (on tour) to Eva Le Gallienne (in NYC).  All are from the year 1924 - not long before Duse died.  Written in French.  English translations are as follows:
    #1.  From Chicago - Jan. 1, 1924
I keep your dispatch as a lucky charm.  I hope to see you again.  Eleonora Duse
    #2.  From New Orleans - Feb. 9, 1924
Best of all wishes.  Never doubt yourself.  You will find strength in the new effort.  All will be well.  Good greetings.  Eleonora Duse.
    #3.  From Pittsburgh - April 12, 1924
Very happy to find you in full battle.  All will be well.  All wishes.  Tenderly.  Duse / Hotel Schenley
These telegrams are worn and in fragile condition.  Some tears and brown tanning of the paper.  Fading of type on one.  But otherwise intact and legible.  From a historical standpoint, they are quite fascinating and offer an insight into their (romantic?) friendship.
