WEDDING DRESS / GOWN
& vintage CROWN
from original Owner!
~1950s Maurer Original Wedding Gown With Vintage Beaded Crown . Condition is Pre-owned. Absolutely beautiful lace overlay vintage gown, all button and loops working on dress (back closure and wrist closures).
~ The crown is in good condition, it's original veil has been removed.  Loops in place for attaching a new one!  Currently has a 'comb' sewn in, which can easily be removed if so desired.
~This ensemble has stood the test of time, and produced 2 Wonderful marriages, but now it is time to pass along this 'Good Luck Charm'!
1953: Originally purchased and worn by my Mother (height 5'11").  She had some minor alterations (tucks in torso) done at that time.
2001: Worn by me w/ flat shoes (6' tall).  A few more alterations (by professional seamstress) - let the original tucks out, fabric & lace inserts under arms to allow me to move! Deteriorated netting at neck replaced.  Concealed 'bustling' loops added.

SIZE:  12 - 14 (??) - This is an approximation, as the dress has been altered a couple of times. SEE measurements to confirm fit!
Around the shoulders, across the chest & back is a beautiful iridescent colored sequins & champagne pearl detail.
Bodice is lace over satin.
Sleeves - lace which comes to a 'V' tip on top of hand.  A few minor stress pulls/holes in lace near shoulders - see photos.
Satin attached 'slip'.
The back, and wrists are fastened with loops around MANY tiny cloth covered buttons.  All originals are still attached.  NO zipper!
MEASUREMENTS (approximate, measured laying flat):
LENGTH: Back (Top of shoulder to end of train) 88"
LENGTH: Front (Armpit to bottom) 53"
BUST: (Armpit to Armpit) 18"
SHOULDERS:(Top of Shldr to Top of Shldr) 17.5"
WAIST: 15"
SLEEVE: (Top of Shldr to Point on hand) 25.5

Since stored in 2001, a few discolored areas have become noticeable in front, and along back hemline (SEE PHOTOS!!).  The dress has not been professionally cleaned since PRIOR to it's wearing in 2001.  We have not made any attempt to clean or iron - preferring not to add stress or damage to the fabric/lace.  Will leave method & extent to the preference of knowledgeable New Owner!
