Description

Two-piece society dress in red velvet. French label: E. Legrand * 7 Boulevard de la Madelaine * Paris. The antique dress is a two-piece consisting of a skirt and a top attached to the long train. The court train is padded on the inside. Probably the dress was worn in winter. Half-length sleeves. V-neckline formed by a wide lace. The lace continues as a decorative element on the skirt. The bodice is laced in the front and then covered by the lace. The long train is attached to the skirt with hooks. The skirt has back part made of silk, worked in the style of a bustle (small cul, gathered parts).  The dress is in very good condition. Slight creases in the velvet. Subtle signs of age and wear. A few tiny tears in the hip area. A unique dress that puts a fantastic face on the phrase "in velvet and silk". The decoration is not included.
